End effectors and machine vision
Machine-vision integration can further increase flexibility by allowing the system to determine the position and orientation of workpieces before handling them. This is particularly useful for sorting, flexible pick-and-place, positioning and inspection processes where components do not always arrive in exactly the same location.
One of the most important use cases for the CR10AP is CNC machine tending. Coolant is commonly sprayed during metal cutting and machining to cool and lubricate tools and workpieces, creating an environment where conventional robot protection can become a limitation. The CR10AP’s IP68 robot arm and oil-resistant construction make it better suited to these conditions.
The robot can load unfinished components into a CNC machine, remove finished parts and transfer them to a subsequent production stage. Its 1300 mm working radius can also allow it to serve multiple positions within a cell, while the 10 kg payload provides capacity for larger workpieces or heavier gripper configurations.
Cutting and grinding are another major application area. These processes can produce significant quantities of dust and fine particles, making the CR10AP’s high level of ingress protection particularly valuable. DOBOT specifically identifies cutting and grinding as applications for the CRA-IP68 Series.
The CR10AP can also be configured for welding applications. Welding environments may involve fumes, dust and contamination, and the CRA-IP68 Series is positioned by DOBOT for welding alongside loading and unloading, gluing and material transport.
In gluing and dispensing processes, the robot can follow controlled paths while carrying dispensing equipment, helping automate repetitive application patterns. The higher environmental protection is particularly useful where fluids, adhesives or cleaning processes may expose the robot to occasional splashes or residue.
The CRA-IP68 platform can also be useful outside traditional metalworking. DOBOT identifies high-humidity environments and applications where splashes or water mist may be present as suitable scenarios for the series. The MZX Robotics product page additionally positions the CR10AP for tasks ranging from manufacturing and warehousing to other flexible automation applications.
