The SMSL D1se is an extremely high-performance DAC based on a symmetrical architecture using the high-end ESS ES9038Pro digital-to-analogue conversion chip. It takes advantage of a flawless design to meet the needs of the most demanding audiophiles.
"A British Audiophile" tested it, together with the perfectly matched SMSL VMV A1 Class A amplifier.
The SMSL D1se is capable of decoding MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) audio files. These guarantee the closest possible reproduction quality to the original studio recording for unparalleled listening.
The D1se uses an ESS ES9038Pro DAC chip for the conversion. This offers incredible sound performance and excellent measurement results, especially at 140 dB SNR and -122 dB THD+N. In addition, this 32-bit 8-channel chip provides very low distortion of 0.00009% (-121 dB) and supports high-resolution audio streams up to PCM 32-bit 768 kHz and DSD512.
All D1se circuits incorporate high-end components. The power supply section includes an ES9311 chip that allows the DAC to be kept at low noise levels. This power supply also includes Nichicon KG filter capacitors and a high quality Noratel toroidal transformer. The XMOS XU-216 32-bit USB interface is also used to process USB data streams quickly and efficiently.
The SMSL D1se includes a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver and antenna that allows you to stream your music remotely, directly from your smartphone. It also supports aptX codecs, providing fast and stable transmission for near-CD playback quality.
