The YBA YT302 represents the fusion of classic disc playback and modern digital audio technology. A key feature of the YT302 is its native DSD output, enabling SACD discs to be transmitted in true DSD64 format to an external DAC. This is achieved via the I2S output, with full DSD64 support, while the coaxial, optical, AES, and BNC outputs deliver DSD64 in DoP format. As a result, the sound preserves the dynamic range, resolution, and natural character of SACD playback. Note that the USB output is not functional for SACD playback and is intended solely for CDs.
The YBA YT302 is a purpose-built digital transport. There are no built-in network features, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or streaming services – it is dedicated entirely to physical disc playback. This focused design allows all resources to be devoted to stable disc rotation, precise clocking, and noise-free digital signal transmission. A 5-inch touchscreen provides a simple and intuitive interface for managing outputs, layer selection, and system settings.
The YT302 features a comprehensive range of digital outputs, including I2S, coaxial, optical, AES/EBU, BNC, and USB Audio, ensuring seamless integration with any modern DAC. The unit is built around FPGA-based hardware and allows the selection of ten different I2S pinout modes, significantly enhancing compatibility with DACs from other manufacturers, including high-end models. Additionally, an external clock input supports both 44.1 kHz and 10 MHz synchronization, allowing precise integration into master-clock-based systems.
The top-loading design is not only visually elegant but also acoustically advantageous, minimizing resonance and increasing mechanical stability. The original Sony SACD drive mechanism and Blue Diode® system ensure precise disc reading and reliable operation. A robust metal chassis, precision assembly, and a separately powered 48 VA linear transformer all serve to deliver a pure digital output signal.
The YT302 is part of the YBA Design Series and is designed to work seamlessly with the YBA YD302 DAC, which receives native DSD via the I2S interface. When paired, these two components unlock the full potential of the DSD format, while the YT302 remains fully compatible with DACs from other manufacturers.
The front-mounted touchscreen and multifunction control knob offer intuitive operation. The included premium remote control makes it easy to manage all essential functions: playback, layer switching, repeat mode, display on/off, and fast menu navigation.
