The DOBOT NOVA2 is a compact 6-axis collaborative robot arm designed primarily for commercial, hospitality and light automation applications. Its modern, clean design, small footprint and straightforward programming make it suitable for customer-facing environments where the robot is not only working in the background but can also become a visible part of the service experience.
The NOVA2 offers a maximum payload of 2 kg and a working radius of 625 mm, making it suitable for a wide variety of light object-handling, dispensing, serving and precision automation tasks. Its ±0.05 mm repeatability provides reliable and consistently reproducible movement in applications where accurate positioning is important. Its 6-axis configuration provides a high degree of freedom, allowing the robot to perform more complex motion sequences. The wide range of motion of the J1, J4, J5 and J6 joints, together with the extensive movement range of the J2 and J3 joints, enables the NOVA2 to approach different areas of its workspace flexibly and execute smooth, natural movements.
With a maximum TCP speed of 1.6 m/s, the NOVA2 can perform dynamic automation tasks despite its compact size and relatively low payload. This is particularly advantageous in commercial and hospitality applications where the robot needs to perform several consecutive operations quickly and continuously. The NOVA2 weighs only 11 kg, while its compact joint design keeps overall space requirements low. Its controller is also exceptionally compact, allowing the complete system to be installed within a relatively small area. The robot can be installed at any angle, providing additional flexibility when designing an automation system and making the NOVA2 easier to integrate into custom counters, automated service stations and specialised robotic cells.
The DOBOT NOVA2 provides a flexible automation platform for businesses where compact dimensions, straightforward installation, precise movement and operation around people are equally important. Its small footprint allows it to be deployed in environments where a conventional industrial robotic cell would be too large or unnecessarily complex. With its 2 kg payload, 625 mm working radius, ±0.05 mm repeatability, 6-axis movement, adjustable collision detection and extensive communication capabilities, the NOVA2 provides a versatile platform for a wide range of commercial, hospitality and light automation applications.
Through hand-guided teaching, the operator can physically move the robot arm into the required positions, allowing motion points and workflows to be defined quickly. Graphical programming is also available, simplifying the development of basic automation processes for businesses without a dedicated programming team.
The robot features five adjustable levels of collision detection, allowing its sensitivity to be configured according to the application. Additional safety functions include human motion sensing and posture retention in the event of power loss, making it particularly safe in customer-facing applications.
The NOVA2 has an IP54 protection rating, providing a reliable degree of protection against dust and splashing water. Its operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C makes it suitable for a wide range of indoor commercial and light-industrial environments.
The controller features 8 digital inputs/outputs and 2 analogue inputs/outputs, together with TCP/IP, Modbus TCP, RS485 and Modbus RTU support. This allows the system to be integrated easily into existing PLCs, external controllers and complex systems.
Additional digital inputs and outputs, together with RS485 communication, are available at the end of the robot arm, simplifying the direct integration of different end effectors, dispensing units and intelligent peripherals with clean cabling.
The clean and modern styling makes it particularly suitable for customer-facing applications in cafés, shops and showrooms. Customised colour configurations are also available, allowing the robot to seamlessly match a company's visual identity.
