The central element of the Relay is the AKM AK4493SEQ DAC chip, chosen for its balanced, detailed and slightly analog-like sound character. This converter provides a stable foundation for high-resolution digital audio processing while preserving fine textures and micro-details.

The device offers wide format support: DSD playback compatibility, and up to 32-bit / 768 kHz sampling for PCM. This enables full utilization of modern high-resolution audio files while operating as a stable and reliable USB audio interface on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS systems.

The Relay offers a two-stage gain control with low and high gain modes. This allows optimal driving of both sensitive IEMs and larger headphones. Output voltage in low gain mode is 1.35 Vrms (single-ended) and 2.7 Vrms (balanced), while in high gain it reaches 2 Vrms and 4 Vrms, ensuring a wide operating range.

The 60-step digital volume control enables precise and smooth adjustments. This is especially important with sensitive in-ear monitors, where even small volume changes can significantly affect the listening experience. The system is designed to ensure stable dynamics and distortion-free volume control.

The Relay features six different digital filter modes, allowing fine-tuning of the sound signature. These filters are designed to subtly adjust transients, high-frequency roll-off and spatial perception, enabling users to tailor the sound to their system and preferences.

The Relay’s sound profile leans toward a clean background, strong separation and controlled dynamics. The AKM-based DAC delivers a slightly smoothed yet highly detailed presentation, with a natural and balanced midrange, airy but non-fatiguing treble, and tight, well-controlled bass. The low-end becomes even more dynamic and spatially open via the balanced output.

The Relay features a compact chassis with premium materials and a robust construction designed to balance durability and portability. Control and feedback are handled via an LED-based system that indicates gain mode, filter settings and current audio resolution.
