The A100 uses Infineon Class D amplification technology. One of the main benefits of this design is efficiency of up to 92%, allowing the amplifier to provide substantial output power from a small enclosure with moderate heat generation.

Rated output is 2 × 80 watts into 4 ohms and 2 × 40 watts into 8 ohms. Loudspeaker impedance, sensitivity and power handling should always be considered together with listening distance when assessing the available volume and system headroom.

In Bluetooth mode, the A100 appears as “SMSL BT5.0C” in the list of nearby devices. Once paired, content played on a phone, tablet or computer is reproduced directly through the amplifier.

To connect a different source device, hold the INPUT button for approximately two seconds to clear the previous Bluetooth pairing memory. Walls, longer distances and other 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Bluetooth devices may affect connection stability.

When connected through USB, the A100 operates as a digital audio device for the computer. Select “USB AUDIO” in the playback software or the operating system's sound settings, and the amplifier will receive the computer's audio signal directly.

If the computer does not recognise the amplifier after switching from BT or LINE IN to USB, disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable or restarting the A100 may restore the connection. The manufacturer recommends setting the computer volume high and controlling the final listening level with the A100.

Two subwoofer pre-outs are located on the rear panel. One active subwoofer creates a 2.1 system, while two active subwoofers allow a 2.2 configuration, helping a system built around compact bookshelf speakers achieve deeper bass and a greater sense of scale.

The subwoofer's level, crossover frequency and phase should be adjusted with the controls on the subwoofer itself to suit the main loudspeakers, listening position and room acoustics.
