SHANLING SCD3.3
High-end desktop SACD player with second-generation 24-bit R2R DAC and classic 12AT7 tube output
The Shanling SCD3.3 combines the classic SACD/CD playback experience with modern engineering solutions. This device is not just a player, but an audiophile hub that reveals every detail of the music in a new light. Housed in a solid chassis, it features a second-generation R2R DAC built from 212 extremely precise resistors. This design does not deliver the typical chip-based DAC sound, but instead offers a much more organic, analog-like presentation – rich in detail, airy, yet with natural tonality. The sound is further enhanced by the classic 12AT7 tube output stage, which lends warmth and smoothness to every recording. For disc handling, a top-loading mechanism is paired with an HD850 laser, ensuring stable and accurate reading. The true DSD data stream from SACD discs is transmitted directly to the internal DAC or via digital outputs (I2S, coaxial), so every nuance of the music reaches the listener untouched. The wide range of connections – RCA, XLR, digital outputs – allows the SCD3.3 to integrate into any high-end system. The dual 66 W transformer power supply provides stable energy, ensuring the sound always remains controlled and clean. Externally, it is enclosed in a robust aluminum chassis weighing nearly 10 kg, conveying a sense of seriousness and stability. Convenient operation is ensured by a 5" touchscreen and the downloadable Eddict Player application, making everyday use comfortable. This device does not show off – it simply exists, and lets the music do the talking.
