SHANLING SCD3.3
High-End desktop SACD player with second-generation 24-bit R2R DAC and classic 12AT7 tube output
The Shanling SCD3.3 combines the classic SACD/CD playing experience with modern engineering solutions. This device is not merely a player, but an audiophile center that showcases every detail of music in a new light. Encased in a robust housing is a second-generation R2R DAC built with 212 highly precise resistors. This solution does not yield the typical chip-based DAC sound, but offers a much more organic, analog-like auditory experience – rich in detail, airy, yet with natural tones. The sound is further enriched by the classic 12AT7 tube output stage, lending warmth and smoothness to every recording. For disc handling, a top-loading mechanism and HD850 laser are coupled, ensuring stable and precise reading. The true DSD stream of SACD discs is delivered directly to the internal DAC or through digital outputs (I2S, coaxial), allowing every detail of the music to reach the listener untouched. A wide range of connections – RCA, XLR, digital outputs – enables the SCD3.3 to fit into any high-end system. The dual 66 W transformer-powered power supply provides stable energy, ensuring the sound remains controlled and pure. The external appearance is embodied in a massive aluminum housing, weighing nearly 10 kg, which conveys a sense of seriousness and stability. Comfortable handling is made easy with a 5” touchscreen and the downloadable Eddict Player application. This device doesn’t boast – it simply is, and allows the music to do the work.
