Balanced sound signature with six balanced armature drivers
The Campfire Audio Fathom is a premium in-ear monitor built around six custom balanced armature drivers. Its tuning is designed for a detailed and balanced sound, with a slightly warmer midrange that gives vocals more body and supports a more natural presentation.
The glossy black anodized aluminum shell has an elegant and precisely crafted finish. The subtle color play of the Rainbow PVD fasteners creates a distinctive contrast with the deep black surface, giving the earphones a refined yet premium appearance.
The Fathom uses two premium balanced armature drivers for the low-frequency range, delivering fast, precise and controlled bass response. The tuning gives the lower frequencies a slight, tasteful lift, so the bass remains tight while carrying a satisfying sense of presence.
The midrange is handled by dedicated drivers, delivering a rich, detailed and slightly forward vocal presentation. The upper frequencies are powered by two high-performance treble drivers, adding fast transient response, an airy sense of space and fine detail to the Fathom’s high-resolution sound signature.
The Campfire Audio Fathom uses TAEC acoustic technology, where precisely shaped internal geometries and air volume support the treble drivers, contributing to a wider stage, improved layering and more accurate spatial imaging.
The solid-body driver housing, custom damping values and carefully shaped acoustic chambers work together to define the Fathom’s intended sound character. Its 5 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, balanced all-BA design, lively tonality and expansive sense of space result in an IEM that delivers high-resolution, precise playback with a natural sound signature.
The Fathom uses Campfire Audio’s proprietary custom matrix MMCX connectors. This design provides a stable cable connection while allowing the cables to be attached and detached safely.
The MMCX connector system is one of the key elements in the Fathom’s long-term usability. It allows simple cable replacement, improves serviceability and provides a stable foundation for integration into demanding audiophile systems.
The Campfire Audio Fathom is designed, engineered and assembled in Portland, Oregon. Its construction follows the brand’s small-batch, precision-focused manufacturing approach, where mechanical design, acoustic tuning and fit accuracy all play a central role.
Each Fathom earphone is hand-assembled, tested and packaged at the same location, resulting in a more transparent manufacturing process, consistent quality control and reliable long-term operation.
The Fathom’s precisely machined aluminum shell is lightweight, durable and ergonomic. The black anodized finish gives it a clean appearance, enhanced by the Custom Gold PVD CA inlay and colorful PVD fasteners.
The aluminum sound tube offers a more durable solution for eartip changes and mechanical stress than earphones fitted with plastic nozzles. The shell shape supports a stable fit, durability and a premium feel.
The Campfire Audio Fathom package includes two Time Stream cables: one with a 3.5 mm single-ended connection and one with a 4.4 mm balanced connection. This enables flexible system integration with portable players, amplifiers and audiophile devices equipped with balanced outputs.
The package also includes a Dimensional Folding Wallet carry case, along with silicone and foam eartips for comfortable portability and proper fit and isolation adjustment. The included cleaning tools support regular earphone maintenance, helping to extend the lifespan of the in-ear monitor and make wearing it more comfortable.
