According to the manufacturer, the etched and crafted stainless steel mesh takes inspiration from the arrangement of mermaid scales. Fine perforations sit within larger repeating shapes to create a surface with detail that remains apparent up close.

The grille forms part of the open housing and should remain unobstructed during use. Covering it can alter the sound; the combination of wood and metal serves both the construction and the distinctive appearance of the AIVA 2.

The oval over-ear cushions and broad suspension strap work together to determine the wearing feel. The design aims to spread support rather than concentrate it on a narrow point, allowing the earcups to sit in line with the shape of the head.

The manufacturer specifies a weight of 420 g, making correct adjustment particularly relevant. Actual comfort depends on head and ear size, glasses and fit; soft materials alone cannot guarantee pressure-free wear for every listener over unlimited periods.

The outer headband support is based on an integrated steel-sheet construction. A separate suspension strap sits beneath the frame with its characteristic cut-outs, separating the structural support from the surface that touches the head.

The metal frame works with the earcup supports as a single assembly, while the inner strap provides a broader contact area. Adjust fit using the intended mechanisms rather than forcibly bending the frame.

Sendy Audio uses lambskin for the strap that rests against the head. The soft, supple surface conforms to the head’s contour, complementing the steel frame and providing a pleasant contact surface across the crown.

The photograph illustrates the leather texture. This material specification applies to the suspension strap; the earpads use a different construction that combines several materials.

Height adjustment and the manufacturer’s stated 30° earcup rotation help align the headphones with the head and face. The pads should sit evenly around the ears, with the suspension strap supporting the headphones securely.

Check the L and R markings before putting the headphones on, then adjust each side gradually. Aim for even contact rather than maximum clamping force, and keep the earcups within their natural range of movement.

Even pad contact matters for both comfort and sound. A good seal around the pads does not change the fact that the AIVA 2 remains an open-back headphone.

The supplied cable uses high-purity 6N OCC single-crystal copper conductors. Its braided construction is complemented by wood and stainless steel details that match the headphones, with a nominal length of 2 metres and a stated tolerance of ±0.2 metres.

Two separate 3.5 mm plugs connect to the left and right earcups, while the source end uses a 4.4 mm balanced plug. The markings identify the correct channels. Hold the connector housing when connecting or disconnecting the cable rather than pulling on the wire.

The detachable design makes future cable replacement easier, but matching plug diameter alone does not establish compatibility. Any replacement must also have the correct wiring and fit the sockets physically.

The 4.4 mm plug connects directly to a compatible balanced headphone output. For a conventional 3.5 mm stereo headphone output, use the supplied adapter: the cable’s 4.4 mm plug goes into the adapter, and its 3.5 mm plug connects to the player.

The adapter does not turn a 3.5 mm output into a balanced one. The source determines which connection is appropriate; a 4.4 mm socket alone does not automatically guarantee better sound quality.

The nominal 32 Ω impedance alone does not determine whether an amplifier will provide sufficient volume and headroom. Choose a headphone output that can drive a 32 Ω load adequately. Lower the volume before connecting, then raise it gradually to the required level.

Sendy Audio describes the tuning as combining clear, bright treble, a warm and full midrange, and deep, powerful bass. The company associates the thin diaphragm with responsive detail and attacks, and the open construction with a spacious soundstage.
