The SH-X delivers exceptional power: up to 11.5 watts per channel at 16 ohms, and 5.5 watts at 32 ohms. This ensures that even the most demanding, large diaphragm headphones play with full dynamic range and distortion-free. The 300 and 600-ohm models are also well served, providing ample power (600 mW / 300 mW).

The SH-X offers three selectable gain stages on both balanced and unbalanced outputs. The lowest stage is specifically optimized for sensitive IEMs so that they play with full dynamics, without background noise. The stages help find a fine balance between volume and distortion for any headphone.

Thanks to the balanced and unbalanced pre-out outputs at the rear, the SH-X can be used not only as a headphone amplifier. It also excels as a high-end preamplifier for driving active speakers or integration into a full analog chain. Extremely low distortion and high dynamic range are guaranteed here as well.

On the front panel, the SH-X features an optically bonded IPS display providing excellent viewing angles, sharp graphics, and information-rich feedback. The relay-controlled volume adjustment is mechanically high-quality and completely eliminates channel imbalance problems.
