The SMSL SU-2 is a compact high-resolution desktop DAC that converts AES/EBU, optical and coaxial digital sources into a clean analogue signal. Its balanced XLR and RCA outputs enable direct integration with active speakers, preamplifiers or integrated amplifiers.
An ESS ES9039Q2M DAC chip and four OPA1612A operational amplifiers support accurate, low-noise signal conversion. It accepts PCM up to 192 kHz and DSD64 via DoP, while the balanced output provides a 4.7 Vrms signal level.
A clear indicator system displays the selected input, signal lock, sampling rate and left and right channel activity. Its slim aluminium chassis, gold-plated connectors and power consumption below 2.3 W complete a focused, refined digital-to-analogue converter design.
