The Gustard P26 is an advanced pre-amplifier with volume control and 3-position input selector. As an innovative option the input and output signal levels can be adjusted separately. This useful feature allows the P26 to be paired with a wide range of devices.
The P26 pre-amplifier employs fully ballanced circuitry in the input stages, volume control and pre-amplifier stage all being fully ballanced design without any signal conversion. It uses two high-performance stereo LME49860 operational amplifiers which can be easily change to the type that suits individual needs thanks to the DIP-8 socket. The pre-amplifier stage is a hybrid design containing both operational amplifier units and discrete components. The output circuitry contains only discrete components for excellent signal stability.
Thanks to a relay matrix controlled by the ALTERA MAX logic circuit the P26 provides perfectly identical signal levels on both channels in all volume settings. This volume control mode combines the advantages of the digital and analog worlds: the clarity of analog sound and the convenience of precise digital control. The Gustard P26's linear power supply is equipped with a high-speed rectifier and an ultra-low noise discrete voltage regulator. A 50 Watt toroidal transformer has been developed specifically for this unit. The selector switch on the rear of the unit allows you to switch between 230 / 110 volt supply mains.
The P26 comes with an infrared remote control to access volume control, mute and input selection functions, but all control options are also available via the front panel buttons. ON/OFF power button, plus a control knob for source selection and input/output gain level adjustment, and a rotary knob for precise volume control. The OLED display shows the active input source, current volume level and input/output gain parameters in real time.

The P26 is equipped with two pairs of balanced XLR inputs and one pair of unbalanced RCA inputs. On the output side, one pair of RCA and one pair of XLR connectors are available, allowing the P26 to be connected to both ballanced and single-ended amplifiers.
