Reference-level network DAC and digital audio hub
The Gustard X30 is the manufacturer’s flagship digital-to-analog converter, which combines a premium DAC, an advanced network streamer, and analog preamplifier functions in a single device. The X30 is specifically designed for audiophile systems where uncompromising sound quality, maximum resolution, and versatile connectivity are essential requirements. Thanks to its outstanding technological solutions, it is an ideal choice for high-end home systems, studio environments, or even as a digital audio hub.
At the heart of the Gustard X30, four ESS ES9039SPRO DAC chips operate in a parallel configuration. This architecture not only improves the signal-to-noise ratio but also ensures significantly reduced distortion and outstanding detail reproduction. The ES9311Q ultra-low-noise voltage regulation used in the circuit further refines operation, guaranteeing a stable and clean power supply. The device supports the latest high-resolution formats, including 32-bit / 768 kHz PCM and native DSD512 playback. The result is an extremely accurate, natural, and finely layered sound image that faithfully conveys even the smallest details.
The X30 functions as an extremely versatile digital hub compatible with almost all common sources. The XMOS XU216 USB interface ensures fast and stable data transmission, especially for computer-based playback.
The available inputs allow integration of various sources – whether streamer, CD transport, computer, or professional audio equipment. The I2S HDMI input is especially important for those seeking the purest possible digital signal transmission.
Through the RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet connection, the Gustard X30 also operates as a standalone network player. Thanks to broad protocol support, it easily integrates into modern digital ecosystems.Supported systems include Roon Ready, AirPlay, as well as DLNA/UPnP and NAA protocols. This allows music content from NAS, local servers, or mobile devices to be accessed directly without a dedicated external streamer. This significantly simplifies system setup while maintaining premium sound quality.
One of the key elements of digital signal processing is precise timing, in which the X30 excels. The built-in OCXO (Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator) clock system and FPGA control minimize jitter, resulting in a more stable and clearer sound image.
The 10 MHz external clock input allows integration into professional systems, where an external master clock can further improve system accuracy and synchronization.
The SHARC DSP processor inside the device performs signal processing with 64-bit floating-point precision. This not only ensures precise operation but also allows fine-tuning of digital filters.Users can choose from multiple PCM and DSD filters, and a NOS (Non-Oversampling) mode is also available, which can provide a more natural, analog-like sound character. This is especially useful for those who want to tailor the sound to their personal preference.
The Gustard X30 is not only a DAC but also a full-featured preamplifier. The device can operate in both fixed and variable output modes, allowing direct connection to power amplifiers or active speakers.
Volume control is based on a precision R2R resistor ladder system, which preserves signal integrity while providing accurate and linear control. The analog output section is built from discrete components, ensuring natural sound, low distortion, and linear frequency response.
The design of the device serves long-term reliability in addition to functionality. The solid aluminum chassis effectively reduces mechanical vibrations and electromagnetic interference.
The digital and analog sections have separate power supplies, minimizing mutual interference. This solution is crucial for achieving clean, noise-free sound, especially in complex audio systems.
