Desktop Streamer DAC with Headphone Amplification
The SM1.3 provides a state-of-the-art streaming solution with a modern user interface and components worthy of flagship status. It features a 64-bit Rockchip ARM CPU, 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM, and a closed Android 12 system, catering to the evolving needs of modern music listeners. Its tuning is based on Shanling's flagship portable player, the M9 Plus, utilizing the AKM AK4499EX and AK4191 modulator DAC chip combo. It is complemented by an XMOS XU316 USB interface and TPA6120 headphone amplification. The sound is exceptionally detailed, with a vast soundstage and precise sound imaging, yet it offers a pleasant warmth and smoothness characteristic of the classic Shanling sound. With precise volume control and the MUSES8920 acting as a preamplifier, the SM1.3 can be directly paired with power amplifiers or active speakers, enabling a simple yet high-quality 2-channel speaker setup.
The SM1.3 also offers wireless connectivity. Bluetooth functionality is available, as well as WiFi 6 (2.4G/5G) network support for NAS, DLNA, and AirPlay. Through Bluetooth 5, AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC resolutions are available, and the device can be easily managed remotely via the free Eddict Player app. In addition to optical, coaxial, and USB digital inputs and outputs, it has I2S HDMI, RCA, XLR, and 6.35mm headphone outputs, making the SM1.3 easily integrable into almost any sound system. It can be expanded with SSD and USB-A connected drives.
The SM1.3 is built with a simple and elegant aluminum case, featuring a 5.8" 1080p touch display, and is available in black and silver colors. It is a versatile upgrade for any music system. The device weighs 6.3kg and the package includes an EU (TYPE-F) plug power cable, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi antennas, a USB-A to USB-C cable, and a remote control.
