IBASSO DX270 R2R ULTRA
Portable High-Resolution Hi-Fi Audio Player with 20-bit R2R + 4-bit String DAC Hybrid Architecture and 130dB Dynamic Range
The DX270 is not a typical R2R player, but rather an in-depth reconstruction of R2R decoding by iBasso, achieving R2R implementation. It employs a 20-bit R2R + 4-bit String DAC hybrid architecture, combining an 8-channel fully differential discrete R2R, FPGA-Master 3.0 in-house developed algorithms, and hardware resistance compensation network. This results in a 130 dB dynamic range and better than -97 dB THD+N, fully overcoming the null transition distortion issues common in R2R devices, ensuring near-perfect linearity. The DX270 features a fully balanced 8-channel R2R architecture, using two R2R DACs per channel to eliminate null transition distortion and maintain smooth, linear signal transitions. This differential design ensures exceptional stability even at low levels, achieving an industry-leading 130 dB dynamic range. The DX270 uses a hybrid 20-bit R2R plus 4-bit String DAC architecture, where the String DAC handles high-bit processing for wide dynamic range, low distortion, and minimal noise interference. By using 344 high-precision resistors—almost double that of standard R2R resistors—iBasso achieves a finer, more natural, and clearer sound. The DX270 runs on Android 13 operating system with a refined user interface, supporting the installation of various streaming apps. It bypasses SRC at the system level, allowing applications like Mango Player to perform optimally. Additionally, it features Mango OS, a Linux-based music system with numerous advanced algorithms specifically for audio playback. With lower SoC load, absence of WiFi interference, Bluetooth interference, and lower electromagnetic interference, the result is a clearer sound.
