A highlight of the EX-M1 is its JRC MUSES72320 electronic volume control—a two-channel, microprocessor-controlled system. This approach is far more precise than traditional potentiometers, operating via a finely matched resistor ladder. It enables smooth, low-noise adjustments with exceptionally low distortion.

The EX-M1’s circuit board uses 0.2 μm gold-plated PCB traces to maximize conductivity and shielding. Solder points feature enlarged contact areas with extensive electromagnetic protection, achieving class-leading noise levels and signal-to-noise performance.

Power comes from two encapsulated 400 VA transformers, isolated per left and right channel. This dual-mono supply ensures excellent channel separation, stable current delivery, and a clean, transparent sonic picture.

Each power module mounts to a custom gold-anodized heatsink for efficient thermal stability. Two EXICON MOSFET pairs per channel operate in Class AB for clean, controlled amplification.

Output power is 215 W RMS into 8 ohms and 290 W RMS into 4 ohms, allowing confident drive of virtually any loudspeaker. A high damping factor of 2000 ensures tight, authoritative bass and precise control. The high-speed supply features fast recharge, while the DC-coupled signal path eliminates capacitors for a transparent, linear presentation.

The EX-M1’s sonic signature is neutral, detailed, and dynamic, yet natural and musical. Imaging is precise, the dynamic range is wide, and microdetail is rendered with exceptional clarity. The goal is an engaging long-term listen that delivers an authentic musical experience across all genres.
