The DOBOT M1 Pro is a compact collaborative SCARA robot designed primarily for light-industrial automation and flexible manufacturing applications. Its small footprint, integrated controller and straightforward deployment allow it to be integrated quickly into existing production environments, workstations and smaller automation cells. It is particularly suitable for applications where a compact, precise and flexible automation solution is required instead of a large industrial robotic system.
The SCARA configuration is particularly effective in desktop and light-industrial automation processes. The robot supports fast horizontal movement, vertical positioning and workpiece rotation, making it suitable for a range of handling, positioning, assembly and feeding tasks. The J3 axis provides a vertical travel range of 5 to 245 mm, while the J4 axis offers ±360° rotation for flexible workpiece orientation.
The robot features 4 axes, a maximum payload of 1.5 kg and a working radius of 400 mm. Its ±0.02 mm repeatability enables precise and consistently reproducible movements, making it well suited to repetitive manufacturing tasks where accurate positioning and stable cycle performance are important.
The DOBOT M1 Pro provides a flexible automation solution for companies looking to automate repetitive production tasks without installing a large industrial robotic cell. Its integrated controller, compact design and accessible programming options enable fast deployment and flexible adjustment of automation processes. The M1 Pro is designed primarily for flexible automation in small- and medium-volume production. Thanks to its compact construction and fast deployment, it can be moved or reconfigured for new tasks relatively easily, making it well suited to manufacturing environments where products, batches or workflows change regularly. For small and medium-sized businesses, the robot’s simple deployment and limited space requirements can be particularly advantageous. The M1 Pro makes it possible to automate repetitive manufacturing processes without necessarily requiring the installation of a large, permanently configured robotic cell. With its 1.5 kg payload, 400 mm working radius, ±0.02 mm repeatability, collision sensing, machine-vision and end-effector integration, and TCP/IP and Modbus TCP communication, the M1 Pro provides a compact collaborative SCARA platform suitable for a wide range of light-industrial automation, flexible manufacturing and small robotic-cell applications.
Compatible with a wide range of end effectors and accessories, ensuring it meets even the most specialised requirements of businesses. It is compatible with vacuum-operated (external vacuum source required) and electric grippers, conveyor belt kits, vision processing units, as well as Modbus and PLC accessories for communication expansion.
The M1 Pro features an integrated controller, eliminating the need for a separate large control cabinet. This reduces the overall footprint of the system, simplifies wiring and enables faster deployment. Its compact design is particularly advantageous when retrofitting existing production lines or automating workstations where available space is limited.
One of the robot’s key advantages is its flexible programming. The drag-to-teach function allows the robot arm to be moved manually into the required positions, enabling the system to record the taught movements. Script-based and graphical programming are also available, allowing simpler automation tasks to be configured without advanced robot-programming expertise.
The DOBOT software environment supports both wired and wireless connections to different devices, allowing the robot to be configured and monitored from PCs, tablets, smartphones and other compatible terminals. This simplifies commissioning, calibration and modification of individual workflows.
The M1 Pro’s collaborative design allows it to operate near people in suitable applications. Its collision sensors enable the robot to detect physical contact and stop when required, supporting safer human–robot collaboration. This is particularly useful in manufacturing environments where operators and robots perform different stages of the same workflow.
The robot can be integrated with a wide range of external peripherals and end effectors. Various grippers, vacuum suction cups and machine-vision solutions can be connected to the system, allowing the M1 Pro to be adapted to the requirements of a specific automation task. By selecting the appropriate end effector, the same robot can be used across several different handling and manufacturing processes.
Integration with machine-vision systems creates further automation possibilities. A vision kit can be used for visual positioning, measurement, detection and recognition tasks, enabling the robot to operate in processes where the position or characteristics of a workpiece need to be determined using a camera.
The M1 Pro supports TCP/IP and Modbus TCP communication, allowing it to connect to PLCs, control systems and other industrial automation components. Its extensive I/O capacity and two network interfaces enable the integration of sensors, switches, end effectors and additional peripherals, as well as the creation of more complex automation systems. The robot also supports secondary development, allowing custom applications and tailored control solutions to be created. This is particularly useful for companies and engineering teams that need to implement specialised processes or proprietary software integrations beyond standard automation tasks.
