The USB input is built on the new-generation XMOS XU-316 processor, enabling true 32-bit USB data transmission. The chip supports native DSD and DoP, as well as PCM processing up to 768 kHz sampling rate. This architecture not only guarantees fast and stable data transfer, but also preserves signal integrity for clean sound reproduction.

A key component of the D200 is the ROHM BD34352EKV decoder chip, designed specifically for high-fidelity applications. This chip operates at extremely low distortion of just 0.00019%, equivalent to -114 dB. Such precision ensures every fine detail of the digital signal reaches the analog output with complete accuracy and no distortion. The chip can reproduce even the most demanding musical material in its original quality, forming the basis for uncompromising sound.

The D200 is a full-featured MQA and MQA-CD decoder, capable of carrying out the first (and final) unfolding of compressed studio recordings. This allows listeners to experience precisely the sound quality intended by artists and sound engineers.
Via USB, coaxial and optical inputs, the device processes PCM signals up to 32 bit/768 kHz and native DSD signals up to DSD512. Its optical and coaxial inputs are also compatible with DoP64 standard, enabling DSD playback from these sources. Flexible format support makes the D200 able to serve all modern digital sources at the highest level.

Timing is a critical factor in digital audio. The SMSL D200 features the brand's own CK-03 clock processing circuit, which dramatically reduces jitter. The device also supports external clocks: it can connect to a standard 10 MHz clock generator or even an atomic clock. This function means the D200 can be integrated into the very highest level audiophile systems, where even the smallest timing accuracy matters.

The D200 is not only a DAC, but a complete preamplifier. Two NJU72315 components provide fully balanced preamplification. Its measured distortion is just 0.00013%, which is a standout figure in this category. The device offers preamp and fixed output modes, meaning it can be flexibly integrated into various systems – either directly with a power amp, or as part of an integrated chain.

The centerpiece of the front panel is a fully laminated tempered glass display with a 1.9-inch diameter, offering high light transmission and long lifespan. The new UI is clear, easy to use, and also supports Chinese. With Bluetooth connection, the display is capable of showing song information and lyrics, combining visual and audio experience.

Stable power supply is key for sound quality. The D200 uses a linear power supply with patented Adaptive Voltage Switching technology. In addition, several low-noise stabilized voltage stages feed the analog circuits, ensuring conversion remains clean and noise-free under all circumstances.

The D200 uses Qualcomm's latest-generation Bluetooth chip, supporting LDAC (24 bit/96 kHz), aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and SBC and AAC codecs. The external Bluetooth antenna ensures a stronger signal and more stable connection. The included remote control allows all playback functions – play, pause, skip – to be conveniently managed.
