Japanese engineering thinking

Not trend-driven. Sound-driven.

final is a Japanese audio company established in 2007, with roots that reach back to the original final brand founded in 1974 by Kanemori Takai. Today, final develops and sells high-end earphones and headphones under its own brand while also working in component technology, product planning, design and manufacturing.

Since beginning sales of its own earphones in 2009, final has built a distinct position in Japan and internationally by taking a different approach from major electronics manufacturers. The brand focuses on sound quality, design thinking and products that remain meaningful beyond their first moment of purchase.

final's ambition is to create earphones and headphones that people continue to value, repair and use over time, closer to the way a mechanical wristwatch can become a long-term personal object rather than a disposable appliance.

About final Inc.

The comprehensive pursuit of what is fundamentally right.

final describes its brand concept in one clear sentence: the comprehensive pursuit of things that are fundamentally right. This principle guides the company's sound design, product structure, repair philosophy and manufacturing culture.

Established 2007

final Inc. was established in 2007 and entered its current independent phase after a management buyout in 2014.

Heritage 1974 roots

The original final brand began in 1974, first gaining attention with high-end cartridges, amplifiers and speakers.

Headquarters Kawasaki, Japan

CEO Mitsuru Hosoo

final established its own factory because developing products that do not yet exist requires direct feedback between design, engineering and production. At the factory, final develops and manufactures drivers used in its products and assembles high-end earphones and headphones.

Production staff are not treated as simple operators. They actively suggest improvements and carry out their work with the pride of true craftspeople, helping final refine both the sound and the way each product is made.

final's products are shaped by values deeply connected to Japanese craftsmanship: refinement, patience, simplicity and responsibility for the final listening experience.
