Shanling plans to shake up the world of portable DAP (digital audio player) devices with the modern components and updated look of the M5 Ultra digital audio player. The AKM AK4499EX + AK4191EQ chip combination and XMOS XU316 USB interface are responsible for the high resolution and the same perfect I/V conversion stage as the brand's flagship portable player, the M9 Plus. The TPA6120A2 amplifier chip delivers up to 1070 mW of output power at 32 Ohms. The 6000mAh battery provides up to 10.5 hours of battery life, depending on the output. The two-way Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity supports LDAC resolution, and WiFi 2.4/5G supports DLNA and AirPlay, so the player can be connected to a NAS, for example. It also natively supports TIDAL streaming. The M5 Ultra runs Shanling's easy-to-use and secure, closed MTouch system. The player can also be used as a USB DAC when connected to a computer or smartphone, or as a Bluetooth receiver for signal processing via Spotify, Qobuz and other music streaming apps.

The M5 Ultra's angularly curved aluminium chassis houses a 4.7" IPS touchscreen, as well as a bi-directional USB-C port, MicroSD memory card slot up to 2TB, a 3.5mm jack and a balanced 4.4mm jack output conveniently. The M5 Ultra is available in black and silver.
