The lifespan of the earpiece
The COMPLY™ products' slow-rebound memory foam material wears and deteriorates with use, which is its intended purpose. Its lifespan depends on usage and individual attributes. With average use, it lasts approximately 2-4 months per pair. The way the eartips are used, the body’s chemical composition (earwax, sweat, etc.), and the environment all affect its lifespan. To ensure that COMPLY™ eartips last as long as possible, make sure to always “prep the eartip” (compress the memory foam before inserting it into your ear), occasionally clean it carefully from visible dirt, and store your earbuds in a case when not in use. Replace the eartips if they start to “fray,” tear, or lose their memory foam properties (e.g., the foam expands noticeably quicker than initially). The compression and release, along with continuous chemical exposure, lead to material fatigue.
