The MUSICIAN AUDIO PHOENIX is a DDC (Digital to Digital Converter) device designed for converting, reclocking, and transmitting digital audio signals. Its purpose is to preserve signal integrity and minimize jitter throughout the entire digital chain. The unit is specifically designed for complex audio systems where integration of multiple digital standards is required.

FPGA-based processing architecture

The internal processing is based on an FPGA DSP architecture, enabling high-precision digital signal handling. The role of the FIFO buffer and reclocking is to reduce timing errors in the incoming signal, resulting in a more stable and accurate data stream.

I2S configuration and DSD handling

The device supports switching I2S pin configurations as well as left/right channel DSD settings. DSD64 (DoP) transmission is available via coaxial, AES/EBU, and optical inputs, while USB and I2S interfaces support up to DSD512.

Clocking and stability

The PHOENIX uses an SC-cut temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (OCXO-like solution), which keeps the quartz resonator at a constant temperature. This reduces frequency fluctuations and ensures more stable timing in digital audio processing. An external clock input is also available at 45.1548 MHz and 49.152 MHz.

Digital isolation and noise reduction

The system uses 50 Mbps optical coupler-based digital isolation, separating noisy digital stages for a cleaner signal path. This solution improves the signal-to-noise ratio throughout the entire audio chain.
