The AL200 integrates several essential audio components into a single unit. It can receive music from a computer, television, CD transport, mobile device or conventional analog source, convert digital signals and directly drive passive loudspeakers.

A dedicated 6.35 mm headphone output also allows private listening without requiring a separate headphone amplifier. Independent speaker and headphone volume settings make switching between the two listening modes straightforward.

INFINEON MERUS MA5332MS POWER STAGE

The amplifier section is built around the Infineon MERUS MA5332MS two-channel Class D power module. It delivers up to 165 watts per channel into 4-ohm loudspeakers and 85 watts per channel into 8-ohm loads, providing substantial output from the AL200’s compact enclosure.

The efficient Class D architecture limits heat generation and power loss while maintaining firm control over connected loudspeakers. Protection circuits monitor overcurrent, overheating and abnormal supply conditions, supporting reliable long-term operation.

SMSL AL200 high-resolution digital audio architecture

CS43131 DAC AND XMOS XU-316 USB INTERFACE

Digital-to-analog conversion is handled by the Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC, designed for low noise and accurate signal reproduction. The third-generation, 16-core XMOS XU-316 USB interface provides asynchronous data transfer and supports PCM playback up to 32-bit/768 kHz together with native DSD256.

Volume control is managed by the Japanese NJW1194 electronic controller. Its precise channel tracking allows smooth level adjustment while helping preserve channel balance and signal integrity at different listening volumes.

MQA AND MQA-CD DECODING

The AL200 supports full MQA decoding through its USB, optical and coaxial digital inputs. Compatible MQA files can therefore be unfolded within the device before conversion and amplification.

MQA-CD content is supported through the optical and coaxial inputs when a compatible CD transport is connected. This allows the AL200 to process compatible physical discs while functioning as the DAC and amplifier within the system.

FIVE INPUT OPTIONS AND BLUETOOTH 5.0

The AL200 accepts USB, optical, coaxial, RCA and Bluetooth sources. A computer can be connected through USB, televisions and transports through optical or coaxial, while the RCA input accommodates a conventional analog source.

Bluetooth 5.0 provides a convenient wireless connection for phones, tablets and computers. After the initial pairing, the amplifier can automatically reconnect to the previously used device when Bluetooth mode is selected.

EIGHT SOUND MODES AND MANUAL TONE CONTROL

Eight selectable sound modes are available: Direct, Tone, SDB, Bass, Super Bass, Rock, Soft and Clear. Direct mode preserves the original signal path, while the remaining modes provide alternative tonal presentations for different recordings and system configurations.

Bass and treble can also be adjusted independently through a ±9 dB range. This provides direct control over tonal balance without requiring external equalization equipment.

DEDICATED 6.35 MM HEADPHONE OUTPUT

The front panel includes a dedicated 6.35 mm headphone output for direct headphone listening. Speaker and headphone volume levels can be stored independently, preventing an unsuitable volume setting from being carried over when switching between outputs.

CNC-MACHINED ALUMINUM ENCLOSURE

The electronics are housed in a precisely machined aluminum enclosure measuring 210.5 × 41 × 198 mm. The rigid body protects the internal circuitry and gives the AL200 a clean, understated appearance.
