4.4MM BALANCED IEM CABLE WITH INTERCHANGEABLE CONNECTORS

ddHiFi BC130C Eryx

The ddHiFi BC130C Eryx is a 4.4mm balanced IEM upgrade cable for listeners who use multiple compatible in-ear monitors with a music player, DAC or headphone amplifier. Its four-conductor hybrid design, Nyx Pin interchangeable connector system, and rosewood and titanium alloy details come together in a refined cable designed for long-term use.

ERYX OVERVIEW AND CONNECTOR REPLACEMENT

The video presents the contents of the Eryx package, the cable design, and how to use the interchangeable 2-Pin and MMCX connector modules of the Nyx Pin system.

A PURE, FLEXIBLE CONNECTION BETWEEN IEM AND SOURCE

An earphone cable forms part of the analogue signal path between an IEM and its source, so fit, conductor design, connector condition and the listening environment all matter. Eryx is a premium replacement cable designed for devices with a 4.4mm balanced output, with support for multiple IEM connector types.

Its value lies primarily in its practical role within a system: it provides a dependable connection between a compatible in-ear monitor and the source, while the Nyx Pin system can accommodate other compatible IEM connector types in the future. Always verify both your earphone connector type and the 4.4mm output on your player or amplifier before choosing the cable.

ddHiFi BC130C Eryx premium IEM cable on a black background — Eryx uses a 4.4mm balanced termination and is intended for source devices with a compatible 4.4mm headphone output.

ddHiFi BC130C Eryx four-conductor hybrid cable structure — The conductor bundle combines German oxygen-free copper, OCC copper, gold-plated OCC copper and high-purity silver in a single hybrid braid.

FOUR CONDUCTOR MATERIALS IN A HYBRID-BRAIDED STRUCTURE

Eryx combines German OFC, or oxygen-free copper, OCC, or Ohno Continuous Cast copper, gold-plated OCC and high-purity silver in a hybrid-stranded conductor. This construction, which brings together four distinct materials, is a proprietary ddHiFi design; the nominal conductor size is 25 AWG × 4.

The internal conductors are protected by American PVC insulation and a black braided outer mesh. This dual-layer structure helps protect the cable and keeps its appearance neat during everyday use. The effect of a cable on sound character depends on the complete system and the earphones used, so Eryx should be selected according to connection compatibility, materials and ergonomic requirements.

ROSEWOOD AND TITANIUM ALLOY DETAILS

The Eryx cable splitter and additional components use high-density rosewood and titanium alloy. These materials contribute to the cable's premium appearance, tactile quality and stable, durable construction.

ddHiFi also highlights the natural damping properties of the wood as part of the design. In everyday use, the key benefit is a carefully designed, easy-to-handle cable system: the 120cm length suits both portable players and desktop listening, while the 28g weight does not place unnecessary load on the earphones.

ddHiFi BC130C Eryx rosewood and titanium alloy components — High-density rosewood and titanium alloy are used on the cable splitter and related details.

ddHiFi BC130C Eryx Nyx Pin interchangeable 0.78mm 2-pin and MMCX connector modules — The included Nyx Pin 0.78mm 2-pin long-pin, 0.78mm 2-pin flat-pin and MMCX modules allow the same cable to be used with several compatible IEMs.

NYX PIN INTERCHANGEABLE CONNECTOR SYSTEM FOR MULTIPLE IEMS

The ddHiFi BC130C Eryx uses the Nyx Pin system with interchangeable earphone-side connector modules. The package includes one pair of 0.78mm 2-pin long-pin modules, one pair of 0.78mm 2-pin flat-pin modules and one pair of MMCX modules, allowing the cable to work with several in-ear monitors using different connection standards.

This is particularly useful when you own several compatible IEMs or plan to change to a model with a different connector type later: there is no need to keep a separate 4.4mm cable for every earphone. Before connecting, always verify the exact socket type of the earphone, the left and right markings, and whether its 2-pin design is recessed, QDC or another incompatible variant.

CORRECT HANDLING OF THE CONNECTOR MODULE

Attach or remove the connector module in a straight line without applying excessive force. If you feel resistance, check the module type, alignment, and left or right marking before continuing.

4.4MM BALANCED TERMINATION

Eryx uses a 4.4mm balanced device-side connector. This standard is found on many portable music players, DACs and headphone amplifiers, but it can only be used when the device has a genuine 4.4mm balanced headphone output.

Do not connect the 4.4mm plug to a 3.5mm or 6.35mm socket with a simple mechanical adapter. If your source uses a different connector, choose a purpose-designed adapter or a cable with the appropriate termination that is electrically compatible with the output of your device.

ddHiFi BC130C Eryx 4.4mm balanced connector — The Eryx 4.4mm balanced termination requires a compatible 4.4mm Pentaconn headphone output on the player, DAC or headphone amplifier.

ddHiFi BC130C Eryx OFC and RhP 4.4mm connector variants — The manufacturer lists two 4.4mm connector variants: the gold-coloured OFC version uses a gold-plated oxygen-free copper Pentaconn plug, while the silver-coloured RhP version uses a rhodium-plated copper plug. Check the selected version before ordering.

ddHiFi BC130C Eryx 4.4mm connector on a white background — In the OFC version, the 4.4mm connector is supplied by Pentaconn; its model number is NBP1-04-004.

ddHiFi BC130C Eryx connected to an IEM — With the correct Nyx Pin module, the cable connects to a compatible IEM, while its 4.4mm end connects to the balanced headphone output of the source.

DESIGNED FOR A CONSIDERED PORTABLE OR DESKTOP SYSTEM

Eryx can form part of an IEM system built around the 4.4mm output of a portable music player, USB DAC or desktop headphone amplifier. A balanced connection requires a genuine 4.4mm balanced circuit at the source end, while the Nyx Pin module must match the socket of the IEM.

When connecting the system, first set the source to a low volume, attach the correct IEM module, then insert the 4.4mm plug. Increase the volume gradually afterwards. This helps ensure comfortable and safe use, particularly with sensitive in-ear monitors.

COMPACT LENGTH FOR EVERYDAY USE

The 120cm cable length provides natural freedom of movement with a portable player, a phone-connected DAC or a desktop headphone amplifier. Its 28g weight, braided outer sleeve and neatly arranged conductor bundle support tidy, comfortable everyday use.

After use, coil the cable in a loose loop and avoid sharp bends near the connectors, cable splitter or earphone-side modules. Careful handling helps protect the conductors and connectors, especially during frequent portable use or when changing between several IEMs.
