The SMSL DA-9 is designed to serve as the central component of compact yet powerful stereo systems. Its fully balanced internal architecture, XLR and RCA analog inputs, Bluetooth connectivity and active subwoofer output are combined in a clear and versatile amplifier.

Two Infineon MA12070 Class D amplifier chips deliver 90 W per channel into 4 ohms. High-efficiency operation keeps heat generation and power consumption under control, while the precisely regulated analog stage provides clean and dynamic sound reproduction.

The DA-9 uses two Infineon MA12070 amplifier modules. This modern Class D architecture delivers high output power from a low-profile desktop enclosure measuring only 40 mm in height, while its efficient operation limits wasted heat and energy consumption.

The rated output is 150 W per channel into 2 ohms, 90 W per channel into 4 ohms and 50 W per channel into 8 ohms. This provides sufficient power reserves for driving passive loudspeakers with different sensitivity levels while retaining the advantages of Class D amplification in a compact form.

The DA-9 uses fully symmetrical signal processing designed to reduce noise, crosstalk and distortion generated within the signal path. With a suitable source, the balanced XLR input provides a stable and interference-resistant connection, while the RCA input enables straightforward integration with conventional analog equipment.

The precise NJRC volume controller, dual input noise filtering and power supply optimized for low interference work together to support consistent and clean operation. The 111 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 96 dB channel separation reflect the refined signal management of the amplifier.

The integrated Bluetooth 5.0 receiver enables direct wireless playback from a compatible smartphone, tablet or computer. This allows the DA-9 to drive a passive loudspeaker system without requiring a separately connected analog source.

Support for aptX and UAT codecs provides wireless signal transmission optimized for music playback. UAT is SMSL's proprietary higher-quality Bluetooth audio transmission solution for compatible source devices.

In addition to its loudspeaker terminals, the DA-9 provides an active subwoofer output. This allows a separate powered subwoofer to be added alongside the stereo loudspeakers to reproduce the lowest frequency range.

The 2.1-channel configuration works particularly well in systems where compact stereo loudspeakers need to be complemented by a fuller and more extended bass response. The DA-9 therefore manages both stereo amplification and subwoofer integration within a single component.

The DA-9 features a CNC-machined and anodized aluminum enclosure. The precisely manufactured chassis provides a durable exterior and a stable mechanical environment for the internal circuitry, while its dimensions of 187.5 × 154 × 40 mm require very little desktop space.

Multiple preset sound modes allow the presentation to be adjusted to the character of the system and musical material. The included infrared remote control provides convenient access to volume adjustment, input selection and the main operating functions.
