SHANLING SCD1.3
Desktop SACD Player DAC Headphone Amplifier and Streamer
The SCD1.3 shines not only as a High-End DAC (digital-to-analog converter) and player, Shanling presents an advanced, high-end, multifunctional device. Its tuning is based on Shanling's portable player flagship, the M9 Plus, with the AKM AK4499EX and AK4191EQ DAC chip combo, complemented by the XMOS XU316 USB interface and TPA6120 headphone amplification. It offers an extremely detailed and vast soundstage with a precise audio character, while also providing a pleasant warmth and smoothness for the classic Shanling sound. With the extremely precise volume control and the MUSES8920 acting as a preamp, the SCD1.3 can directly pair with power amplifiers or active speakers, enabling a simple and high-quality 2-channel speaker setup. It employs the MediaTek ME1389EE system alongside the Sanyo HD870 laser, tray mechanism to fully exploit the capabilities of high-resolution SACD discs, while also excellently handling traditional CDs. For hybrid SACD discs, a separate button aids in easy switching between SACD and CD layers.
Beyond CD format playback, it offers numerous options, including Bluetooth functionality, a USB-A U-Disk port, and network support for NAS, DLNA, and AirPlay via WiFi. Through the Bluetooth 5 connection, AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC resolutions are available, and the device can be easily controlled remotely through the free Eddict Player application. In addition to USB-B, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical inputs, I2S HDMI, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical digital outputs, as well as RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs are available, allowing the SCD1.3 to be integrated into nearly any audio system.
The SCD1.3 is built with a simple and elegant aluminum case, featuring a 5" M-Touch touchscreen display, available in black and silver colors. It offers exceptional performance for lossless music listening, not just for collectors.
(Disc compatibility: The SCD1.3 is capable of playing CD and SACD discs. SACD playback is limited to PCM 88.2 kHz. No MQA-CD support.)
