Anniversary Andromeda sound in Damascus steel design
The Andromeda 10 Launch Edition is a limited-edition model created to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Campfire Audio in-ear monitors, carrying forward the iconic Andromeda sound in a new, expanded ten balanced armature driver configuration. Both the Black and Gold Damascus steel edition versions feature a PVD black stainless steel shell, genuine Damascus steel faceplate and gold-colored retaining rings, with production limited to fewer than 225 units per color variant.
Instead of the classic five-driver Andromeda concept, the Andromeda 10 Launch Edition uses four low-frequency, four mid-frequency and two high-frequency balanced armature drivers. The difference between the color variants appears in the color of the CA logo inlay: the Gold version is made with a gold-colored logo inlay, while the Black version features a black logo inlay.
The most important technical foundation of the Andromeda 10 is its configuration of ten balanced armature drivers. The four dedicated low-frequency armatures create tight, fast and precise bass that reaches deep without overwhelming the overall soundstage. This structure is especially important in a multi-driver IEM: the bass does not define the sound with exaggerated quantity, but with controlled depth, texture and fast response.
The four drivers tuned for the midrange are responsible for the clear presentation of vocals, instruments and musical details. The two high-frequency armatures work together with the TAEC acoustic tuning element, making the upper range not only more detailed, but also airier and more open in space. This configuration gives the Andromeda 10 one of its key strengths: it reveals many fine details while keeping the sound coherent, natural and easy to follow.
The Noise-Elimination Mid-Circuit, or NEMC for short, introduced in the Andromeda 10 is designed to support the clarity and stability of the midrange. In balanced armature technology, unwanted resonances and small noise components may appear during driver movement, potentially affecting detail accuracy and the transparency of the soundstage.
The role of NEMC is to reduce these effects so that mid frequencies are reproduced in a cleaner, more focused and more natural form.
Campfire Audio’s TAEC, or Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber technology, works together with the high-frequency drivers of the Andromeda 10. This proprietary acoustic element functions as a precisely tuned chamber, helping to extend frequencies, create a more airy presentation and render spatial information more accurately.
The role of TAEC is not only to highlight high-frequency details: the system also contributes to a more refined perception of imaging, layering and instrumental positions. As a result, the Andromeda 10 does not sound closed-in or flat, but offers a more open, deeper and better-separated sense of space.
A specially selected hybrid ceramic-film capacitor also plays a role in the internal design of the Andromeda 10. This component has an important function in linking together the driver groups divided across different frequency ranges, helping the low-, mid- and high-frequency armatures perform not as separate layers, but as a unified musical whole.
In a multi-driver in-ear monitor like this, cohesion is essential. Detail retrieval alone is not enough if the frequency ranges do not integrate naturally with one another. For this reason, the internal component selection of the Andromeda 10 Launch Edition supports sonic unity, natural transitions and precise armature integration.
The Andromeda 10 is made with new 2-pin connectors, providing a stable, modern interface between the earphones and the cable. This solution fits well with the premium mechanical construction of the anniversary model and allows more flexible system integration in the world of modern IEM cables.
The 2-pin connection is especially important for a high-resolution in-ear monitor, where secure contact and proper mechanical stability are part of everyday use. The Launch Edition’s custom paired cable uses 2-pin connectors and a 4.4 mm balanced termination with gold-plated copper conductors.
The Andromeda 10 Launch Edition includes a custom cable made with gold-plated copper conductors, 2-pin IEM connectors and a 4.4 mm balanced termination. This design fits well with the premium construction of the anniversary model and provides a direct connection option for portable players, DACs and headphone amplifiers equipped with a balanced output.
The 4.4 mm balanced connection provides a stable, modern analog connection with compatible source devices, while the gold-plated copper conductors support reliable signal transmission. The Launch Edition cable is made with its own connector housings and Y-splitter, meaning it is not based on the Time Link modular system, but uses the dedicated cable solution of the special edition.
The shell of the Andromeda 10 Launch Edition is precision-machined from stainless steel, giving the earphones a robust, durable and premium-feeling structure. Regardless of color variant, every Launch Edition model features a genuine Damascus steel faceplate, giving the anniversary edition a distinctive and characterful appearance.
The stainless steel shell structure is important not only from an aesthetic perspective, but also because of its stable fit and reliable mechanical design. The precisely shaped form combines robust construction with a high level of ergonomics and comfortable use, while the Damascus steel faceplate remains one of the defining exterior features of the Launch Edition.
The Andromeda 10 Launch Edition package provides a complete portable user environment alongside the earphones. The model includes a custom cable with a 4.4 mm connector, gold-plated copper conductors and 2-pin connectors, as well as a large zippered leather case, various eartips, a cleaning tool, microfiber cloth, Campfire Audio 10th anniversary pin and numbered commemorative card.
The foam, silicone and High & Clear traction silicone eartips are supplied in S, M and L sizes, allowing the fit to be adapted to different ear shapes. A stable seal is also important for sound quality in a high-resolution in-ear monitor, as it can affect bass perception, noise isolation, imaging and overall tonal balance.
The Andromeda 10 won the ecoustics Best IEM in Show award at CanJam New York 2026, clearly demonstrating the model’s notable position among upper-tier in-ear monitors. The product is not intended as a nostalgic reissue, but as a technically advanced anniversary flagship of the Andromeda series.
The Campfire Audio Andromeda 10 combines the spirit of the classic Andromeda sound with greater driver capacity, a new NEMC midrange circuit, TAEC high-frequency chamber, modular Time Link cable and modern 2-pin connection. The result is a detailed, fast, spacious and coherent IEM that elevates one of Campfire Audio’s most recognizable designs to a new level.
