The Fosi Audio DS3 combines high-resolution music playback, headphone amplification and spatial audio processing developed for gaming in a device weighing just 16 grams. Thanks to its slim 11 mm design, it fits easily into a pocket or bag, making it suitable for both portable use and desktop audio systems.

The ES9039Q2M DAC, the XMOS platform extensively optimised with input from Fosi Audio and support for high-resolution formats are designed to deliver clean, detailed sound reproduction. The DS3 supports headphones with impedances from 16 to 300 ohms and provides a maximum output power of 220 mW into a 32-ohm load.

Fosi Audio’s proprietary spatial audio algorithm accepts native 7.1-channel audio and reconstructs the sound field to convert multichannel game audio into expansive two-channel spatial sound. The result is an immersive 360-degree audio experience with highly accurate perception of sound direction and distance.

Processing takes place at the hardware level, eliminating the need to install computer software or drivers. The DS3 can also create a wider, more lifelike soundstage from conventional stereo sources.

Powered by spatial positioning algorithms, the FPS sound engine analyses the soundscape of shooter games and highlights subtle effects such as footsteps and gunfire, providing more precise directional awareness and more realistic distance perception during gameplay.

In games with multichannel audio output, such as Delta Force: Hawk Ops and Forza Horizon 5, 7.1 spatial audio makes the intensity of battlefields and the roar of engines even more vivid.

The DS3’s high-performance ES9039Q2M DAC chip delivers a 122 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 0.0003% distortion. Its high-resolution digital-to-analogue conversion supports clean, precise and detailed sound reproduction.

The device marked the debut of XMOS’s latest flagship 16-core processor, jointly optimised by Fosi Audio and XMOS. This solution fully unlocks the DAC’s capabilities and ensures stable transmission of lossless audio streams.

The Fosi Audio DS3 supports PCM audio processing at up to 768 kHz and 32-bit resolution. The high sampling rate and bit depth enable detailed playback of compatible high-resolution digital audio.

The device also supports native DSD512, allowing it to process DSD music files from compatible sources without conversion.

Professional hardware-level EQ tuning allows the sound signature of the DS3 to be precisely customised. EQ settings can be adjusted in detail through the browser-based control panel, allowing the sound to be tailored to the headphones, music or game.

The hardware processing is designed to create the preferred settings without degrading sound quality, while volume memory automatically retains the most recently used volume level in both UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0 modes.

The DS3 provides a maximum output power of 220 mW into a 32-ohm load. The portable headphone amplifier supports compatible headphones with impedances ranging from 16 to 300 ohms.
