The Gustard U26 features a single USB-B 2.0 input that natively supports Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and mobile OTG devices in plug-and-play mode, even without a special ASIO driver. On Windows, the downloadable Amanero custom 32-bit driver offers fine-tuning options: buffer size, latency, phase, and data alignment can be adjusted to optimize performance for every element of the signal path. This collaboration with Italian Amanero Technologies ensures real-time, low-latency data processing with an ARM Cortex-M7 processor, up to 200 Mbps isolated transmission, so computer electrical noise does not reach the outputs.

The rear panel includes configurable I2S (via HDMI connector, 5 pin settings per Gustard standard, LVDS level), AES/EBU (XLR, 110 Ω), coaxial SPDIF (RCA and BNC, 75 Ω), and optical Toslink outputs, handling PCM 44.1–1536 kHz (32-bit) and DSD64–2048 (native/DoP) formats. An optional 10 MHz external clock input (50 Ω, 0–20 dBm) is also available, with internal/external clock selection shown on the display (blue: external, white: internal). These outputs perfectly match any high-end DAC, whether integrated amplifiers or active speakers.

The linear power supply features a toroid transformer, dual diode bridges, discrete regulators, and 80,000 µF filter capacitance, fully separating USB and digital circuits. Physical PCB isolation (200 Mbps USB isolator chip), LDO regulators, and multi-stage filtering minimize high-frequency noise, common-mode interference, and ground loops, ensuring a clean, black background noise. This robust power management system—with nearly 15 W consumption—provides long-term stability, even in professional studios.

The full aluminum chassis ensures electromagnetic shielding and rigid structure, with compact dimensions (220 x 65 x 175 mm, 2.1 kg) that allow stacking with other Gustard devices. The front OLED display shows sampling rate, DSD mode, clock status, and IS pin setting; buttons adjust brightness and configuration. The minimalist, industrial design fits high-end rack systems, while internal components—like large filter capacitors and discrete regulators—convey premium quality.
