The TOPPING E70 VELVET is a high-resolution desktop DAC and preamplifier built around AKM's flagship AK4499EX converter. Its low-noise voltage reference power supply and carefully designed analogue stage deliver up to 131 dB of XLR dynamic range, XLR THD+N below 0.00006% and output noise below 1.3 µVrms.
A third-generation XMOS XU316 USB interface supports PCM up to 32-bit/768 kHz and native DSD512. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity includes LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX, AAC and SBC, while the optical and coaxial inputs accept PCM signals up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs can be used separately or simultaneously, with selectable standard and high output levels. Fixed-output DAC mode, variable preamplifier control from -99 dB to 0 dB, automatic power operation and bidirectional 12 V Trigger connectivity allow the E70 VELVET to integrate easily with headphone amplifiers, integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers and active loudspeakers.
