One of the key advantages of linear power supplies is that they deliver stable voltage with significantly lower electrical noise than switch-mode designs. This is particularly important in high-resolution digital audio systems, where power quality can directly affect the operation of connected components.

Inside the Crescendo BEAT, a 70 VA toroidal transformer works together with Schottky diode rectification and nearly 18,000 µF of filter capacitance. Two-stage linear voltage regulation effectively reduces mains interference and load fluctuations, keeping the output voltage stable and low in noise even under load.

One of the Crescendo BEAT's greatest advantages is its ability to power two devices requiring different voltages at the same time. A network streamer and a DAC or DDC can therefore run from a single power supply, simplifying system integration and reducing the number of separate adapters.

Standard DC connectors and the included power cables make it easier to connect compatible audio components. Thanks to its dual-output design, the power supply integrates easily not only with LAiV products but also with other compatible audio devices.

Clean and stable power is one of the essential requirements for the reliable operation of digital audio components. For this reason, minimising output noise was a key focus in the development of the Crescendo BEAT, supporting the stable operation of DACs, network streamers and other sensitive audio devices.

The power supply produces no more than 10 µVrms of output noise under no-load conditions, while the two-stage regulation provides more than 82 dB of ripple rejection to reduce mains-borne interference. Together, these technical solutions deliver the low-noise performance expected from a linear power supply.

Long-term reliable operation is supported by multiple built-in protection circuits. The power supply continuously monitors its own operation and intervenes automatically if abnormal operating conditions occur.

Protection against over-current, over-voltage, over-temperature and short circuits contributes to the safe operation of connected devices, while selectable mains voltage allows the Crescendo BEAT to be used with electrical systems in different countries.

Although a linear power supply does not directly alter the audio signal, it plays an important role in allowing connected components to operate with stable power. Low noise, high filter capacitance and carefully engineered voltage regulation reduce electrical interference originating from the power supply.
