SHANLING MCD1.3
Desktop CD Player DAC/Headphone Amplifier and Streamer:
Following the success of the popular SCD1.3, the MCD1.3 DAC (digital-to-analog converter) and CD player were introduced. The MCD1.3 is capable of playing CDs, utilizing a Philips SAA7824 drive and Sanyo DA11 laser, and supports 4X MQA-CD quality, unlike the SCD1.3, which remains in the manufacturer’s lineup as the top player for SACD records. The multifunctional device is tuned to the flagship Shanling portable player, the M9 Plus, using the AKM AK4499EX and AK4191EQ DAC chip combo, along with the XMOS XU316 USB interface and TPA6120 headphone amplification. It delivers an extremely detailed and expansive sound, providing precise audio with a touch of warmth and smoothness characteristic of classic Shanling sound. Featuring exceptionally precise volume control and the MUSES8920 as a preamplifier, the MCD1.3 can be directly paired with power amplifiers or active speakers, creating a simple and high-quality 2-channel speaker setup. It uses the MediaTek ME1389EE system alongside a laser tray mechanism that fully exploits the capabilities of CDs.
Beyond CD format playback, it offers various features, including Bluetooth functionality, USB-A U-Disk port, and network support for NAS, DLNA, and AirPlay. Through the Bluetooth 5 connection, AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC resolutions are accessible, and the device can be easily managed remotely via the free Eddict Player application. In addition to USB-B, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical inputs, there are also I2S HDMI, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical digital outputs, as well as RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs, allowing the SCD1.3 to integrate into nearly any sound system.
The MCD1.3 is built with a simple and elegant aluminum case, featuring a 5" M-Touch touchscreen, available in black and silver finishes. Not just for CD collectors!
