SHANLING MCD1.3
Desktop CD Player DAC/Headphone Amplifier and Streamer:
Following the success of the popular SCD1.3, the MCD1.3 DAC (digital-to-analog converter) and CD player has been released. The MCD1.3 is capable of playing CDs, using a Philips SAA7824 drive and Sanyo DA11 laser, and supports 4X MQA-CD quality, unlike the SCD1.3, which remains in the manufacturer's lineup as the top SACD record player. The multi-functional device's tuning is based on Shanling's flagship portable player, the M9 Plus, with the AKM AK4499EX and AK4191EQ DAC chip combo, complemented by the XMOS XU316 USB interface and TPA6120 headphone amplification. It offers extremely detailed and spacious sound, precise soundscape, while providing the classic Shanling warmth and smoothness. With exceptionally precise volume control and the MUSES8920 preamp, the MCD1.3 can be directly paired with power amplifiers or active speakers, allowing for a simple and high-quality 2-channel speaker setup. The MediaTek ME1389EE system is used alongside the laser tray mechanism, fully leveraging the capabilities of CD discs.
Beyond CD format playback, it offers numerous options including Bluetooth functionality, a USB-A U-Disk port, as well as NAS, DLNA, and AirPlay network support. Through a Bluetooth 5 connection, AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC resolutions are available and the device can be easily managed remotely through the free Eddict Player app. In addition to USB-B, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical inputs, the device features I2S HDMI, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical digital outputs, as well as RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs, making the SCD1.3 integrable into almost any audio system.
The MCD1.3 is built with a simple and elegant aluminum housing, featuring a 5" M-Touch touchscreen, available in black and silver colors. Not just for CD collectors!
