The M300 MK2 converts digital signals received from a computer, digital audio player or wireless source into a precise analog signal. Despite its compact dimensions, it combines high-resolution format support, balanced output and multiple connectivity options in a single component.

At the heart of the digital signal processing stage is the AKM AK4497EQ DAC chip, based on AKM Velvet Sound technology. Carefully designed clock management, a second-generation XMOS USB interface and audiophile-grade components are used to reduce jitter, noise and distortion generated during digital-to-analog conversion.

The M300 MK2 uses the premium AKM AK4497EQ D/A converter chip. Its Velvet Sound architecture combines wide dynamic range and low distortion with signal processing designed to reproduce the details of digital recordings naturally and accurately.

The DAC supports PCM sampling rates up to 32 bit / 768 kHz and DSD resolution up to DSD512. This enables it to process conventional digital music files, CD-quality recordings and high-resolution studio material.

USB playback is handled by a second-generation XMOS interface. It receives and transfers the high-resolution digital data stream from a computer to the DAC circuitry while supporting high-sampling-rate PCM and DSD formats.

Asynchronous USB transmission allows the internal clocks of the M300 MK2 to control the timing of digital signal processing. This reduces the possibility of timing errors from the source device affecting the quality of the D/A conversion.

The M300 MK2 uses two low-phase-noise NDK clock generators made in Japan. One handles signals belonging to the 44.1 kHz sampling-rate family, while the other handles the 48 kHz sampling-rate family.

Using separate clock families provides more precise timing when processing different sampling rates. Reducing jitter can support cleaner transient reproduction, more precise spatial imaging and a more stable stereo presentation.

The integrated Bluetooth 5.0 receiver allows the M300 MK2 to receive digital audio directly from a compatible smartphone, tablet or computer. Wireless connectivity provides convenient access to streaming services and music libraries stored on mobile devices.

The rear antenna supports stable wireless reception. Bluetooth appears as a separately selectable source alongside the wired USB and S/PDIF connections, allowing users to switch between inputs using the front-panel controls.

The M300 MK2 can receive signals from several types of digital sources. The Micro-USB connection can be used with computers and compatible mobile sources, while the combined 3.5 mm optical and coaxial S/PDIF input supports digital audio players, CD transports and other audio equipment.

Its multiple-input design allows the DAC to serve as the central converter for several digital sources. The selected input, sampling rate and current playback format can be checked on the front-panel display.

On the analog side, the M300 MK2 provides balanced XLR and conventional RCA outputs. When used with a compatible amplifier or active loudspeaker, the XLR connection can provide greater resistance to interference and more stable signal transmission, particularly with longer cable runs.

The RCA output provides broad compatibility with integrated amplifiers, headphone amplifiers and other analog audio equipment. These two output types allow the DAC to be integrated into both conventional and balanced desktop audio systems.

The internal circuitry of the M300 MK2 is protected by a CNC-machined aluminum enclosure. The metal chassis provides a durable mechanical foundation while helping to reduce the effects of external electromagnetic interference.

The front panel features a tempered glass surface and a 1.54-inch IPS display. The screen shows the selected input, digital filter, sampling rate and playback format, allowing the current operating status to be checked directly.

The front-panel buttons provide access to power control, input selection, digital filter settings and display color adjustment. The limited number of controls supports straightforward operation while preserving the compact front-panel design.
