Morel: Craftsmanship Excellence in Sound

Overview

Morel was founded in the 1970s by Meir Mordechai in Israel, producing premium speakers and drivers renowned for their natural sound reproduction. Morel started as Mordechai Electro-Acoustics, born from Mordechai's passion for creating the perfect speaker that preserves the magic of music. Today, they manufacture award-winning speakers and drivers for home HiFi, cars, and professional use, selling in more than 55 countries with complete in-house design and manufacturing. Decades of research and development have resulted in Hexatech voice coil and Acuflex tweeter technologies for better clarity and performance.

Philosophy

Morel Assembly Line

Morel considers speakers as musical instruments, with their primary goal being the transmission of "musical truth" without coloration. Craftsmanship plays a central role – every product undergoes seven quality checks to ensure emotional, hypnotic sound that eliminates the boundaries between listener and performer. This human touch is combined with high-tech engineering to achieve natural timbre and dynamic nuances.

Collaborations and Iconic Models

Morel and Pagani

Morel supplies drivers to brands such as Renaissance Audio, Gershman Acoustics, and Unity Audio, and collaborates with luxury car manufacturers like Pagani, Mazzanti, Czinger, and Tushek. Iconic models include the sleek Fat Lady flagship with a carbon fiber/Rohacell diaphragm, the Sopran series for stereo/home theater, the Octave 6 Limited Edition standmounts, and the Avyra series, featuring the 633 floorstanding speaker.

Future

Morel Handcrafted

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, Morel is pushing new boundaries with its wireless Avyra Wireless multi-room systems and immersive setups expandable to 7.2 channels. High End Munich novelties, such as the Sopran 634 and BIGGIE Portable, indicate the continuation of developments in HiFi, home theater, and car audio. Further collaborations are expected with art and technology, such as the integration of 3D-printed components.

Handcrafted Production in Israel

Morel Hifi Heritage Handcrafting

Every Morel product is carefully hand-assembled in Ness Ziona, Israel, where skilled technicians integrate custom drivers with resonance-controlled cabinets. Flagship models, like the Fat Lady, have no internal damping, allowing the enclosure to "sing" in harmony with the drivers, ensuring accurate transients. Each unit undergoes seven rigorous tests.

International Presence

The Morel brand is distributed in over 55 countries through partners such as Celsus UK, Morel Australia, and European, American, and Asian resellers. Celebrated among audiophiles and professionals, with EISA awards and "best of" accolades, and a strong presence at AXPONA and High End Munich. In Hungary, Muzix Audio proudly offers Morel's otherworldly sound.
