The device uses an NDK femtosecond oscillator, providing an extremely low-jitter clock signal. The DC Elite’s power supply system uses a high-efficiency synchronous DC-DC converter and Linear Technology ultra-low-noise LDO regulators. The iBasso UAC app provides a control interface that complements the functions of the DC Elite on Android devices. Within the app, PCM volume reduction can be adjusted in four steps, two digital filters are available, and left/right channel balance can be adjusted in twenty steps.

The digital filters influence the subtle character of the DAC’s operation, while channel balance adjustment is useful when the headphones or listening position result in a slight left-right imbalance. PCM volume reduction helps with system matching, especially when using sensitive earphones or different source devices.

The DC Elite works in plug-and-play mode with iPhone devices, as well as smartphones and tablets running Android 5.1 or later. On certain Android devices, the OTG function must be enabled manually in the system settings, and compatibility limitations may occur with some phones or tablets.

On Mac computers, Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems, the device can be used without installing a separate driver. For Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8, a separate driver is required. Once properly installed, the DC Elite works as a USB sound card, making it a fully fledged external DAC and headphone amplifier for computer-based music listening as well.

The DC Elite’s housing is made from aerospace-grade titanium alloy, providing an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Titanium is lighter than stainless steel while being stronger than aluminum alloys, making it particularly suitable for the outer shell of premium portable audio devices.

The DC Elite uses a desktop-class DAC chip and a complex player architecture, yet its power consumption remains controlled. The specified values indicate 690 mW power consumption in balanced output mode and 630 mW in single-ended output mode. It is important to note that these values refer to power consumption, not output power.

Since the device does not contain its own battery, power is always supplied by the connected phone, tablet or computer. Actual power consumption may vary depending on the operating mode, the source device’s system and the connected headphones.
