SHANLING SCD1.3
Desktop SACD Player DAC Headphone Amplifier and Streamer
The SCD1.3 shines not only as a High-End DAC (digital-analog converter) and player, Shanling presents an advanced, high-end, multifunctional device. It draws its tuning from Shanling's portable player flagship, the M9 Plus, with the AKM AK4499EX and AK4191EQ DAC chip combo, paired with the XMOS XU316 USB interface and TPA6120 headphone amplification. It provides an extremely detailed and vast soundstage with precise audio quality, while also offering a pleasant warmth and smoothness typical of classic Shanling sound. With extremely accurate volume control and the MUSES8920 functioning as a preamplifier, the SCD1.3 can be directly paired with power amplifiers or active speakers, enabling a simple and high-quality 2-channel speaker setup. It uses the MediaTek ME1389EE system alongside the Sanyo HD870 laser tray mechanism, fully exploiting the capabilities of high-resolution SACD discs, while also handling traditional CDs excellently. For hybrid SACD discs, there is a separate button to easily switch between SACD and CD layers.
Beyond CD playback, it offers numerous options, including Bluetooth functionality, a USB-A U-Disk port, and network support through WiFi for NAS, DLNA, and AirPlay. With Bluetooth 5 connectivity, AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC resolutions are accessible, and the device can be easily controlled remotely via the free Eddict Player app. In addition to USB-B, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical inputs, there are also I2S HDMI, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical digital outputs, as well as RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs, allowing the SCD1.3 to be integrated into almost any sound system.
The SCD1.3 is built with a simple and elegant aluminum case and features a 5" M-Touch touchscreen, available in black and silver colors. It offers exceptional performance for lossless music listening, not just for collectors.
(Disc compatibility: The SCD1.3 is capable of playing CD and SACD discs. SACD playback is limited to PCM 88.2 kHz. There is no MQA-CD support.)
